This month’s Haute Happy Hour roundup features a plethora of July food and drink specials in Chicago. A list consisting of cool hangouts, classic bars, and of course, rooftop ‘haute’ spots.
The key phrase in happy hour is ‘happy.’ So, keep in mind that menus are subject to change, as many menus often do because of seasonality and availability. Be sure to contact the restaurant or visit their website for additional details before heading out to the happy hour of your choosing.
La Josie, the family-owned Mexican restaurant embodies #MezcalMonday to the fullest. Stop by this July for authentic food and drink specials. Enjoy half off Mezcal margaritas, chips and salsa, and tacos dorados every Monday at this West Loop hot spot.

River North – Highline Bar Chicago, 2607 West 17th St.
Highline Bar offers the perfect remedy for the ‘monday blues’. The popular bar and restaurant is located steps away the street from Merchandise Mart. It offers a selection of daily food and drink specials. Visit Highline Bar on mondays this month for a burger, beer, and shot for only $10.

West Loop – Eleven Eleven, 1111 W Lake St.
Cool off with a glass of wine this summer at Eleven Eleven in the West Loop. The wine bar specializing in pairings offers a different selection of wines and foods daily. Enjoy a perfect July food pairing such as Grecian popcorn and a glass of wine for $11.11 or 1/2 off on select wine offerings. Other specials include $20 food and wine pairings.

South Loop – SX Sky Bar, 808 S Michigan Ave.
SX Sky Bar is the newest rooftop to hit the elevated lounge scene. Located inside the Hotel Essex, the rooftop bar offers food and drink items all under being $10. The bar also offers $2 oysters every Wednesday.

The Loop – Boleo, 122 W Monroe St.
Sample an array of South American cuisine at the chic rooftop restaurant inside the Kimpton Gray Hotel this July. The cocktail lounge offers happy hour specials, views, and nightly entertainment. The lounge is centrally located in the Loop, making it the perfect place to grab food and drinks downtown. Specials include $8 wine, $6 beers, $8 Disco Punch, and $5 Anticuchos (Traditional Peruvian Street Skewers).
Happy Hour Specials are available Wednesday through Friday, from 4:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Hyde Park – The Promontory, 5311 S Lake Park Ave.
The Promontory is a popular music venue and restaurant that offers daily happy hour specials in the Hyde Park neighborhood of Chicago. The July food specials at The Promontory during happy hour include items such as $5 Chickpea Fries and $10 Buffalo wings. Drinks range from $7 wines and cocktails to $5 craft beers.
Happy Specials are available Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., and Friday – Sunday from 4:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Streeterville – Devon Seafood, 39 E Chicago Ave.
Looking for an after-work spot after a day of shopping or working on Michigan Avenue? Try Devon Seafood. The seafood restaurant offers a great selection of food and drink specials daily. Get your fill of $8 appetizers that include items such as Pork Belly & Andouille Flatbread, and Point Judith Calamari. Drinks include items such as $8 handcrafted cocktails and martini, and for the large group of Happy Hour goers— a $30 Bucket of Bubbly.

Ravenswood – Dovetail Brewery, 1800 W Belle Plaine Ave.
Drink and dine for good with the Chicago Impact Network. The local non-profit will host their second event series focusing on positively impact change within the Chicago community with The Night Ministry this month. The Night Ministry works with Chicagoans facing homelessness by forming supportive relationships that build dignity, confidence, and a foundation for self-empowerment. Tickets to this event covers ticket cost covers light appetizers and one beer ticket.
The special event take place form 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Optional donations and additional proceeds will go to The Night Ministry.
Woodlawn – Stony Island Arts Bank, 6760 South Stony Island Ave.
Home to a collection of Black and Chicago cultural history—the Stony Arts Bank will become an epic after work drink spot. Happy Hours at Stony Island Arts Bank will take place every Friday in the Johnson Lounge. Drink specials, good vibes, and live entertainment will be on deck at this South Side venue.
Happy Hour specials are available on Fridays from 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m., and are free and open to the public. No RSVP required.
The Loop – Elephant & Castle, 111 W Adams St.
Located down the street from Mr. Brown’s Lounge, Elephant & Castle also has a unique array of food and drink specials in the Loop. Specials include select draught beers for $4, 6 oz. house wine for $4. Food items include snack & share dishes such as Pretzel Bites, Steamed Mussels, and Castle Nachos for half price.
