Uncle Mike’s Place: A Classic Filipino Diner in Chicago

Uncle Mike’s Place

Uncle Mike’s Place is a no-frills, friendly, and fast diner located in the West Town neighborhood. The restaurant is well known for its “Famous Filipino Breakfast” menu that features items such as Tocino(annatto and anise cures pork shoulder), Longaniza( sweet anise-wine chorizo sausage) plates next to garlic infused rice and eggs of your choice, giving your taste pallets a hearty sized portions combining sweet and savory.

The restaurant is packed on the weekends, especially during peak brunch hours. I recommend stopping in before 11 a.m. or after 1:30 p.m. so you don’t feel rushed. Breakfast is served all day so you won’t miss out! I am sure you are wondering if I met Mike. Well, no, but I did ask for him. Maybe you will get lucky and meet the owner of this great establishment yourself! Stop by this local restaurant for cheap eats and great service.
