This Saturday Midwest Fashion Week hosts their annual fashion showcase, Fashion for a Cause. Midwest Fashion week is a global effort to showcase Midwestern designers to audiences around the world through fashion-oriented events. Taste Talks is back for its fourth year in Chicago this weekend. The national series that “celebrates the future of taste though symposia, awards, tastings, dinners, and parties,” notes the website. The event brings together local chefs, restaurants, and foodies of every level for a weekend of engagement and of course eating. Speakers include Andrew Zimmern (Nat Geo’s Bizarre Foods), Jimmy Bannos (The Purple Pig), Jared Leonard (The Budlong Hot Chicken), and much more. It is going down in West Town! Check out one of my favorite neighborhoods this weekend as you snack and stroll the Chicago Avenue corridor. The 7th annual West Town Art Walk brings art in various forms together while the West Town Food Truck Social, well, you know brings together a variety of foods. Experience art forms from over 35 West Town shops and vendors while experiencing street cuisine from over 12 food trucks. I Am We’s mission is “to enrich the lives of youth living in Chicago’s underserved communities through art programming. Ewing as she discusses her book Electric Arches. A story that “is an imaginative exploration of Black girlhood and womanhood through poetry, visual art, and narrative prose.” Joining her in conversation is Hanif Abdurraqib, a poet, writer, and cultural critic from Columbus, Ohio,


What I’m Seeking:

Last weekend was so busy! Did you peep my IG stories? Mostly pictures of food, since I was too caught up with enjoying the moment to share, well, every single moment! This weekend I have no idea what is on my agenda. My trip is precisely one week away, so I am saving all of my energy( and dinero) for my big trip to the South West.
