Weekend Seekers Guide: May 24th – 27th

This weekend, get summertime Chi wardrobe ready by stocking up on graphic tees and more at the Threadless sample sale. Make your way to the city’s Southwest side for Mole de Mayo. #SupportCPS along with Northwestern University’s student group and Social Works with charity and fashion. Celebrate the revolutionary musical genre born right here in Chicago at the Chicago House Music Festival in the Loop. These events, and so many more to enjoy this Memorial Day weekend in Chicago.


Threadless Sample Sale

Make your way to the online retailer’s local office in the West Loop for all-you-can-fill event. Get a Threadless shopping bag for $20 and fill it with as many tees and Buckfeet shoes than you can fill. Saturday’s inventory will feature over 1000 archival t-shirts from over the last 18 years, Bucketfeet shoes, as well as sample tees, accessories, and home decor. All proceeds from the event will benefit Hope for the Day( an organization that raises awareness about mental health and suicide prevention). Style of Sound

The fashion-forward event will showcase one-of-a-kind looks reflecting the music featured at Chicago’s top music festivals, modeled by some of the top influencers in the city. Smokin’ Pork in the Park

The BBQ filled event will take place at Millenium Park. Mole De Mayo

Mole de Mayo is one of the city’s most highly anticipated festivals of the season. Thousands of locals and visitors make their way to Chicago’s historic Pilsen neighborhood for a mole showdown, determining whose version of the Mexican staple is the best in the city. The outdoor festival will also feature food vendors, an open Mercado/Market, two stages of full of live music, plus lucha libre wrestling. This free event is organized and benefits the  Eighteenth Street Development Corporation, an organization serving the Pilsen neighborhood for over three decades. #SupportCPS Fashion Show: Presented by Unity Fashion Group

The fashion show will not only feature the creative talents of five local designers but live musical performances, pro-skate features, food, and drinks, as well as student-designed merchandise. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Chance Arts & Literature Fund. #SupportCPS and the talented individuals participating in the event by grabbing your tickets to the fashion show here.

Chicago House Music Festival

31235083_10155565707191395_6294612513167053347_n.jpgThe house music festival in Millennium Park is a celebration of Chicago breed music and culture phenomena that you do not want to miss this weekend.  The free event will showcase DJ’ and live performances of various sounds and styles of the Chicago born musical genre.  In addition to the festival, the Chicago Cultural Center will also host a coinciding House Music Conference and Dance Summit. WGHC Street Festival

The station will promote peace and non-violence in the community through a full day of community activities. Activities will include a jollof competition, live music, a DJ spinning competition, and vendor booths from local businesses.

What I’m Seeking:

This weekend, I will be attending kicking off my weekend with the Style of Sound event at Celeste. The rest of the weekend I will be enjoying all of THIS BEAUTIFUL WEATHER.
