Jingle Bell Walk: Fashion Show & Pop-up Shop

Shop contemporary local shops and fashion labels this Thursday at Rhyme or Reason’s first ever ‘Jingle Bell Walk.’ Get inspired by runway looks for others or yourself. Tickets include a hosted bar with small bits as well as show and pop-up shop access. 50% of an individuals ticket will also be donated to Make A Wish-Illinois Foundation. Rock the racks away! Bridgeport Holiday Night Market

Get a tour of the Bridgeport Art Center and pick-up some last minute holiday gifts this Friday at the Bridgeport Holiday Night market. The market will include resident artists and other artists from around Chicagoland. Be sure to check out 3rd Friday Open Studios, a monthly showcase featuring over 100 resident arts and four art galleries through the facility. Both will be taking place simultaneously throughout the entire evening. The event will also include free parking, complimentary food, and drinks by Argus Brewery.

Chicago’s Vegan Test Kitchen

Emporium Arcade Bar in Wicker will host a holiday-themed pop-up featuring Chicago’s Vegan Test Kitchen. Chicago’s Vegan Test Kitchen is a community of plant-based, conscious, and locally based Chicagoland chefs. The event will feature eats and treats as well as artisanal plant-based gifts. Entry is free. Be sure to also RSVP and get $5 worth of game tokens to use on the day of the event.


Mi Tocaya Mezcal Dinner Featuring Mezcal Uníon

The Logan Square Mexican restaurant Mi Tocaya along with Mezcal Unión, a Mezcal producer from Oaxaca region of Mexico, will host special dinner and drink pairing this Thursday. The upscale restaurant will feature a four-course meal, each paired with a tasting portion of Mezcal. The co-founder of Mezcal Union will also be onsite to share the sustainable practice used to create the distilled agave-based spirit. Josilyn’s 3rd Annual Barbie Brunch

The 3rd Annual Barbie Brunch will take place this Sunday at The Velvet Lounge. The toy drive, founded by Josilyn Whitney Martin-Richardson is back with the mission to collect dolls for “little girls around the Chicagoland area and the world.” All ages are invited to bring a Barbie and celebrate and support the season of giving. B.A.P.S Comedy Presents: Curlz, Fros & Braids

B.A.P.S, a comedy variety show based out of Chicago, showcases women of color in comedy. The one night of stand-up comedy and sketch show will highlight the “wonder, woes, and fros” of three Black women. Ellington’s “The Nutcracker Suite”

The Nutcracker is synonymous with the holiday season. Experience the traditional sounds of the infamous ballet differently with The Jazz Record Art Collective(JRAC). Michael Nearpass Large Ensemble will perform Duke Ellington’s jazz interpretation of The Nutcracker. The evening will also include an installation and live painting by visual artist Michelle Richardella.

What I’m Seeking:

The holidays are around the corner, and the only that I have checked off of my list is me! So it’s safe to say that I will be finishing up my Christmas shopping this weekend. In addition to that, I plan on catching up with a few friends and checking out some new restaurants and bars as well.
