Come out to experience a collaboration of culture, health, and wellness. This weekend kicks off three weekends in September featuring the small Black-owned businesses. Exhibition of Authentic Mayan Clothing from Guatemala

The authentic Mayan clothing of Guatemala represents the rich and colorful cultural variety of this country. This is because its population is largely Mayan heritage and its chromatic and traditional clothing can be seen in different parts of the country.
Each style is representative of a sector of each region. Even men in some areas wear traditional outfits that include special hats, trimmed knee-length trousers, and fabrics decorated with bird prints. Each textile garment is unique, and most are hand-woven with seam variations. Get more information about the exhibition here

Cider & Sliders is taking Lakeview by storm with its apple-infused beer and iconic mini burgers! The festival will be making its official debut to the Chicago foodie scene this year — and there’s no better way to kickstart the Labor Day weekend! Ciders have been dominating the craft beer industry for some years now, and with new flavors coming out seemingly every day, it’s hard to keep up! This fest will feature over 30 ciders that are available for tasting. And while you’re out here, you can also check out or weekend entertainment including Eliminator, Wedding Banned and 97None, plus a Pearl Jam tribute and more! Taste of Polonia Festival

This annual Labor Day weekend festival at the Copernicus Center in Chicago’s Jefferson Park offers non-stop live music, food, and fun for four days.  It’s a must-do family event with a big enough schedule to keep both little kids & adults happy. The four-day festival will include over 30 live bands, polish food, and beer, 40 local vendors, carnival games, plus much more. JSF Achievement Awards Show

Join the Jeremy Scullark Foundation for its annual achievement awards show. Chicago’s young leader 2018 best achievements in leadership, music, sports, activism, fashion and more. Tickets include a full brunch, plus enjoy a range of musical performances, and celebrity guests. Hosted by Portia King (Revolt TV) and Hot Rod (Power 92.3). All proceeds from the event will benefit youth from underserved communities. 8th Annual Slow&Low: Chicago Lowrider Festival

The annual Chicago Lowrider Festival is based in the industrial corridor of the Pilsen community.  It is the only lowrider community festival in Chicago bringing together car and bike clubs all across the Midwest. The festival brings together a curated entertainment line up of local talent, mariachis, families, children and an extraordinary awards ceremony honoring Lowrider familia. AMFM Closing Party & Fundraiser

Celebrate the memories, and say goodbye to the first AMFM space on 21st street. Ranked as Best New Gallery by The Reader in 2017, the creative space highlighted emerging artists and built a community that supported and cultivated all cultures. Dance, hug, laugh and cry while enjoying sounds by local artists. The $5 cover will benefit the cost of moving and future ventures.
