Spring 2017 Open House

High Concept Labs| 2233 S. Throop St.| $15-$50

Remember those days in middle school when your parents/guardians were invited to your school to meet with teachers, principals, other parents, yeah, that’s kinda of like this, except with art and alcohol. An open house allows for open dialogue between the artists and their audiences. High Concept Labs( HCL) supports this effort by hosting an open house event that increases the access and transparency of the artists and his or hers process, while also celebrating the growth of the organization as a whole.  The evening will include lite bites, beverages, performances, installations, more during the night of mixing and mingling with artists, supports, and HCL staff. Grab your tickets for this evening of creativity and appreciation of the fine arts here.

Chicagoland Indie Bookstore Challenge Day

With rain in the forecast, it may be a good idea to catch up on some light reading this weekend. Grab some new material during the #MyChicagoBookstore Challenge. This Saturday, independent bookstores across the country will be celebrating a one-day national party. Each of the participating stores( two dozen in the greater Chicago area) will create their own unique events—including guest authors, special kids’ story times, readings, contests, giveaways, and special sales. Great perks are part of the challenge, as book lovers are encouraged to indulge in bookstore tourism across Chicagoland, by visiting 10 or more stores on the one day! The more stores you visit, the more you save. An excellent way to build your summer reading list all while seeking out new neighborhoods and bookstores along the way. Learn more about the participating stores and event details here.
