1-Day Sale & Silent Auction

Robin Richman and the Fashion Resource Center invite you to celebrate the FRC’s 30th year as a research and meeting space for the SAIC and Chicago Fashion Communities. Robin Richman, a SAIC Alum who opened her Bucktown boutique over twenty years ago has since become an incubator for avant-garde designers. While the FRC has served to maintain a unique hands-on collection of late 20th- and 21st-century designer garments and accessories representing extreme innovation. The 1-Day Sale and Silent Auction will feature vintage designer clothes and accessories from Dolce&Gabanna and ISSEY MIYAKE USA to Gucci and Sonia Rykiel, with all proceeds supporting the FRC’s continued growth into a state of the art research facility. Fashion Challenge X

Celebrate fashion and philanthropy at the Fashion Challenge X by RefuShe. RefuSHE identifies and protects unaccompanied and separated refugee children, youth, especially young women living in Kenya. The program celebrates 10 years of impact this April with a unique challenge for talented designers. Nine Chicago designers will debut original runway looks highlighting the RefuSHE’s artisan-made fabric. Chicago Wine Festival

Chicago Rum Fest

The 4th Annual Chicago Rum Festival (a.k.a Midwest Rum Fest), is back in Logan Square this Saturday. The main event will feature all-day day celebration of rum from over 40 rum expression. Event experiences include industry-specific sessions, a VIP educational workshop, and general admission “grand tasting.” Each event will feature .25oz pours, educational seminars, and plenty of networking. Hear creative ideas on how to bring more vitality and opportunities to Chatham Center Chicago commercial corridors in the Greater Chatham area this Saturday, April 14th from the UIC students from the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs. Their 3-month preparations will share ideas for improving the corridors in the South Side neighborhood. 16th Annual CHIRP Record Fair & Other Delights

It’s the Sweet 16th edition of the CHIRP Record Fair! Join the local independent radio program at Plumbers Hall to dig through thousands of crates of vinyl records, as well as DVDs, CDs, posters, and more. It’s a music collector’s paradise! They will have over 100 tables of vinyl this year. In addition to the celebration, food will be catered by local Costa Rican restaurant Irazu and others plus, beer, live music, and much more. AMFM Presents: The Producer Series

The Producer Series, hosted by AMFM is back again for the spring season at the Virgin Hotels Chicago. The monthly event will feature sets from some of Chicago’s emerging and established producers. Artists and emcees are encouraged to join the producers and spit if they feel moved by the beat and the producer allows it.
