The Plant Chicago Winter Market in the Back of the Yards neighborhood features a rotating selection of local small businesses working to keep sustainability at the heart of their operations. Shop fresh produce, honey, baked goods and treats, body care products, and more. This market offers family-friendly activities like live music, prepared food, and more during this weekend event. Free Open Studios at Bridgeport Art Center

Friday, January 20th // 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.

Cost: $0 – $20

Visit the Bridgeport Art Center(BAC) for their 3rd Fridays, a free, monthly open house. This weekend, the artists’ studio will feature two exhibitions on the 3rd and 4th floor galleries along with the BAC artists’ studios and Project Onward studio.

Chinese New Year Celebration

Saturday, January 21st // 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

Cost: $0 – $5

Welcome to Chinese New Year with a visit to the Chinese American Museum of Chicago. This year’s program includes Chinese traditional music, singing, folk dance, a QiPao fashion show, poetry, Chinese calligraphy, food, and more.

Registration online is sold out, but walk-ins maybe available. Be sure to arrive early to take advantage of the full event!

Dine at Chicago’s Best Restaurants during Chicago Restaurant Week

Sample the city’s best eats during Chicago Restaurant Week, a 17-day celebration of the city’s award-winning culinary scene. The 16th annual event brings together more than 300 of the city’s top restaurants, representing a near-endless array of cuisines.

Shop For Nostalgic Items at a Disney Inspired Market 

Sunday, January 22nd // 12:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Cost: Free Admission

Everyone needs a bit of nostalgia in their lives. Everybody’s Market is making it happen at Revolution Brewery with their winter market. Twenty-plus micro businesses will come together and offer their Disney-inspired items or dress up their table with all things Disney. Also, a few special Disney characters will be visiting for little a big kids to enjoy.

2023 Austin Forward Together Community Summit

Saturday, January 21st // 8:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Cost: Free

Join community leaders and neighbors of the Chicago Austin neighborhood for a powerful summit at By The Hand Club for Kids. The Austin Forward. Together. (AFT) quality-of-life plan is a set of goals created by and for the community designed to address 7 area issues. The goal of this year’s summit is to inspire and bring more residents and stakeholders into the AFT process as they begin the fifth and final year of implementation. A full program plus breakfast will be provided.
