Spring time is officially here and while I am more than ready to exchange my knee length coats for a denim jacket, I still have to share a fabulous HTWITW look that is very much, cold weather-inspired. For this, look I was inspired by the glamor of vintage style from the free-sprit of the 70’s with a little lux inspiration from the 80’s.
This how to wear it Wednesday look is inspired by the all things vintage. This look was perfect for a cold, rainy day in Chicago. This shoot was especially interesting because of the scenery. My neighborhood has an array of new and old homes in various architectural styles. In this shoot, it was almost like we were in NYC for most of the shoot. Pretty ironic since the best examples of vintage fashion and historical shopping are in New York City. The sweater was a Salvation Army find. Yeah, it’s a lot to look at, but I had fun to style it. There is a lot of pearl detailing that I could not resist! I am a pearl girl to the fullest. I decided to embrace the sweater with a flared denim and some wedged heels, an oversized clutch, and of course, an awesome shearling coat to complete the look.
How would I wear this look again? In the fall there are several pieces in this look that I would pursue again. Shearling is always a major trend during the fall season so the coat is perfect to wear over and over again throughout the early part of the season. I would rock it with almost anything. Dress it down with an oversized t-shirt dress and sneakers or dress it up with a LBD(little black dress) and thigh high boots for something a little posher. The sweater would be great with some floral print trousers, and the high waisted denim jeans, well, that’s always a fun piece to mix and match with a cute crop top or an over the top blouse.
