The Look
Like many of you, I am so over the cold in Chicago. I refuse to let it get to me, especially when it comes to my personal style. For this How to Wear It, I wanted to style a transitional look that was not only an overhaul of the dark and demure tones of my winter wardrobe, but an absolute overload of color and style that was bright, bold, and incredibly fun to wear for the spring!
How To Wear It
For this How To Wear It, I put together a one-colored ensemble, better known as monochrome. When creating a monochromatic look, it’s going to be a challenging wearing one color, especially if the pieces are bought separately. Lucky, mine matched up pretty well. I went for the color orange because it is a color that I know flatters me very well, and is already apart of my wardrobe. I was able to incorporate a sweater from J.Crew that I have had for a while, a pair of orange trousers from H&M that I bought off of impulse back in January, and a pair of strappy kitten heels by Calvin Klein found at Nordstrom Rack.
To complete the Orange Overload, I added silver jewelry that had bits of blue. Minimalist and simple for this already vibrant outfit. The great thing about this look is its versatility. Wear this to the office or out to brunch with the crew on the weekends. Not sure about rocking one color from head to toe just yet? Simply adjust the look by switching the sweater for a frilly button-up blouse in a funky print or graphic t-shirt with a blazer in a solid color. If you are ready for the monochrome commitment but want a little contrast, do so by adding a layer of white in the form of a blouse. Another way to do this is to swap the heels out for a pair of sneakers or flats for a nude tone shoe.
