I am a sucker for a great coat. And I don’t mean just any old coat. But a bright, bold, fuzzy, long, or short. I’ll wear a coat in yellow, orange, pink, neon, anything—but black. My love for colorful coats is warranted. After all, I live in Chicago, and it is hard enough living here and walking around in 20-degree weather. If I am going to walk around in this type of fridge and cold weather, the least I can do is to wear a coat fashionably.
The Look
This look comes as no surprise for me. In another post, I share how to pair a leopard coat with camouflage pants. In this post, I again share my love of coats and the saga of how to wear them. This colorful coat will be the only thing you need to get you through a cold winter in Chicago.

How To Wear It: The Colorful Coat
For this How To Wear It, I curated an effortless and quick look to wear with my colorful coat. Inspired by today’s modern and casual style, this look combines a bright reversible kimono-inspired coat along with a cute and casual look. This streetwear look uses athletic-inspired elements while relying on bold accessories to make it truly stand.
In this look, I am wearing a colorful reversible coat from the H&M x Kenzo. The coat is truly phenomenal. Not only is it bright, but it is reversible and completely insulated throughout to keep your body safe from the cold and harsh elements. The coat is a little puffy and has deep pockets on the inside and outside, which comes in hand on frigid days. The best part of this coat is the level of detail. It’s bright and colorful, making it fun to wear even when the weather is well below a rational temperature.

The coat is pretty bold so pairing it with a simple look underneath is ideal. I paired this coat with an incredibly soft, crop sweater from locally made Chicago brand Wulfka, black joggers by Zara, and my biggest obsession this season, white boots by Steve Madden. I added gunmetal and silver jewelry to add and an even edgier vibe.
Because this look has individual pieces that you can wear individually and is neutral in color, this outfit can easily adjust it. Eliminate the boots and add your favorite canvas sneakers and hoop earrings for a more relaxed look. Swap out the coat as the season’s transition for a long duster style jacket. The styling options are truly endless for this colorful coat.

I love long coats and this colorful one is beautiful! Great photos!
So I am not sure how this coat would work in the sub arctic temps of Wyoming where my wife and her family are from, but Darcee could swing it here in New Orleans. I personally love the colors of this coat from the H&M x Kenzo but you had me totally sold on the fact that it’s reversible!
Beautiful coat!! Like you I love color and specially in winter. Colorful coats just brighten up these gloomy days. My fav a hot pink knee length coat.
This is a really beautiful coat and I like the color indeed. It is something I’d like to wear. Good pics! – Amalia
I love the colors! I love how bright the other side fo the coat is — that would be my side. Sadly I have had to give up my coat game when we moved to Texas. Thanks for sharing!
This is such a cool coat – cool when it comes to the colors, other than that, it’s certainly warm 😉 I love wearing bright colors especially in winter – they help escaping the sadnass of the dark time of the year.
It’s so cold. You definitely need to treat yourself with a nice and cozy goat to go around in 20degree. The color of this one looks amazing with the background
