Experience fashion and culture this weekend with the Museum of Contemporary Art(MCA). Nigerian-born British designer Duro Olowu takes over the MCA this month with his internationally recognized multinational and multicultural viewpoint on fashion, art, and design. The exhibition draws from the public and private art collections of Chicago, including the MCA’s collection that reveals his creative process. Black Made Market – Presented by Kido

Kido Chicago, the black owned children’s store, presents the inaugural Black Made Market. The local retailer welcomes Black makers from all over the Midwest to the Roosevelt Collection Shops to display their unique creations in the heart of the city. There will be items for the whole family – clothing, jewelry, home goods, tasty treats, and more. Entry and parking(up to 2 hours with validation) to the event are free. Pozole Cook Off 2020

Chicago Polar Plunge

Take a dip in the icy waters of Lake Michigan this weekend—for a good cause of course. The annual Chicago Polar Plunge invites Chicagoans to brave the cold temps both on land and in the water along with thousands of other brave souls, as you raise money for the Special Olympics Chicago. AAN 3rd Annual Black History Month Celebration

The Chicago Symphony Orchestra’s African American Network invites you to its 4th annual Black History Month Celebration this weekend in Chicago. The multi-dimensional homage to the first black superstar, “Le Tumulte Noir” celebrates her pioneering Paris revue and her pivotal role in the 1927 silent film “Siren of the Tropics.” This film score by Chicago composer (and frequent AAN guest) Renée Baker will be performed live by the Chicago Modern Orchestra Project, the percussion ensemble Tsukasa Taiko and members of the Association for the Advancement of Creative Musicians. Love Jones: A R&B Party
