The Martin opens it’s doors for makers, crafters, artists and more this weekend in Chicago. The event and performance space will open its doors for a winter marketplace. The second annual Dia De La Concha is a celebration of the love for everyone’s favorite pan dulce: the Concha. Chicago’s best Mexican bakeries will be serving up one of Mexico’s most quintessential pastries. The afternoon will consist of live music, local vendors, specialty Mexican drinks, and of course, a variety of delicious Pan Dulce. Chicago Restaurant Week

Chicago Restuarant Week is back and bigger than ever before. Nearly 400 local restaurants participating which includes over 100 first-time participants and 45 suburban restaurants. The 12th annual culinary celebration kicks off this weekend and features special prix fixe menus starting at $24 for brunch and lunch, and $36 and/or $48 for dinner. Give back this weekend with Lo t Lo Rez Brewery. The Pilsen brewery will host Helping Chicago, Period—an event to support the Chicago Period Project. The event will feature live music from DJ Sandra A. Trevino, DJ Amanda Flores from Rosaries, a guest performance from La Rosa Noir, and local food. $1 of every beer will be donated to Chicago Period Project. Join the MoCP for an opening reception for the exhibition Stateless: Views of Global Migration. Stateless: Views of Global Migration is a new exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Photography combining photography, video, and installation to tell the stories of the global refugee and migration crisis from the perspectives of those who have been displaced. In the age in which “things” permeate our lives, and some would even say control, it is not far off to claim that inanimate objects are very much alive. This exhibition brings together eight artists who each bring forward the dialog that is happening between objects and humans. The exhbition runs through February 24th.
