Over 500 gallons of the cities best gumbo will be served at the 1st Annual ‘GMBO Fest’ here in Chicago. The Fest will consist of up to 10 local Restaurants competing for the best Gumbo in the city. Gumbo is judged by the attendees; with a $500 First Place Cash Prize awarded to the GMBO Fest Gumbo winner! Fill up on gumbo, live entertainment, and good times this weekend in Chicago. The dinner will recognize acts of courage and honor by Black Lives Matter(Chicago), Chicago Teachers Union, The Campaign to TAKE ON HATE, Anakbayan(Chicago), and members of Teamsters Local 705 bargaining committee at UPS. ‘Tis the season to drink & be merry, but mostly to drink. Head to the Virgin Hotels Chicago this weekend for Behind the Bottle, a group art show inspired by each artist’s favorite cocktail. Each artist has chosen a specific spirit or cocktail that inspired their work. The bar for the evening will be made up of their chosen drinks. Every drink order, directly benefits a charity chosen by the artist. All art is available for sale for $500 or less, to help jumpstart your holiday shopping the right way… with a drink in hand.
