Chicago’s favorite night market makes its highly anticipated return to the House of Vans. Join 50 vendors, food trucks and artists inside the West Loop venue for a night of eating, drinking, and shopping. Throw in a DJ and some beer from Goose Island, and you have an event you probably shouldn’t miss. SAUCED Night Market is free to attend with an RSVP and open to guests of all ages. A Celebration: The Ebony Fashion Fair

If you grew up like me than you are very familiar with the Ebony Fashion Fair. A traveling fashion show that showcased Black and European designers modeled by African-Americans. The show also showcased Fashion Fair, a major cosmetics line of the same name. Ebony Fashion Fair will be celebrated this weekend at the Stony Island Arts Bank. Guests can view original gowns and posters from the annual fashion event launched in 1958 by Eunice Johnson, co-founder of Johnson Publishing Company, and demo the iconic cosmetics line that the show inspired. Chicago Gourmet presented by Bon Appétit, the nation’s premier culinary experience, returns to the city this weekend. Celebrating its eleventh year, Chicago Gourmet returns with a new theme – Rock the Fork – which celebrates two of Chicago’s most beloved cultural attributes, food, and music. The festival honors Chicago’s culinary achievements and the creative vision of the chefs, Master Sommeliers, and wine-, spirit-, and beer-makers who participate. The 4th annual Windy City Ball(WCB) blows its way into Chicago this September. The charity gala for young professionals will be held at Venue West with all proceeds benefiting the Rice Child & Family Center, an organization which provides a temporary home and therapeutic setting for local children in Illinois’ foster care system who face severe mental and behavioral challenges. The WCB supports a different cause each year, and more info on past beneficiaries can be found on their website here. Included in the tickets, which are on sale now, is a 4-hour premium bar, passed appetizers, live music, and a silent auction. What I’m Seeking:
This weekend, I will a little be seeking a lot of art and some food scene in Chicago. Thursday, I kick off my weekend with EXPO Chicago. Friday, I will make my way to Pilsen for The Other Art Fair. Saturday, catch me at the Art Institute volunteering. That evening, I will be attending a 1-year-old’s birthday party (I am so excited about this birthday cake)! As well as hit the town for a slight turn up with my girls. Sunday catch me at Chicago Gourmet for an afternoon of food and other delicacies from some of the best chefs in the city.
