You don’t want to miss this unique shopping event, featuring everything from the most darling baby clothes to gifts mom will love! Plus, treats to make the occasion ever sweeter. Chicago City Flea: A Pop-Up Vintage Market

Another Saturday, another great shopping market in the city. Chicago City Flea is a curated gathering of tastemakers and vintage vendors, with food, craft beer, and music to set the tone for a day of treasure hunting.The market will take place at Rejuvenation’s Lincoln Park location, on the corner of Sheffield & North Avenues. The event is produced by the infamous Randolph Street Market with curation by Camp Wandawega. During the market, be sure to enjoy a 15% off storewide during the event at Rejuvenation.

This Mother’s Day at Bar Lupo Italian Pub, jazz vocalist Lisa McClowry performs live from noon to 3 p.m., where a special Mom’s Day a la carte brunch menu includes items like avocado toast and the Lupo breakfast sandwich. Stop by the West Loop, Rick Bayless restaurant Cruz Blanca for their first year anniversary. The always busy brewery and Mexican-influenced pub will have special beer tappings, wood-fired tacos, giant tostadas (you know them as Tlayudas) and live music from our favorite Mexican-Polka band Brigada Norteña. To kick off their fiesta, the restaurant will launch a new beer Paloma grapefruit saison on draft. $20 dollars gets you two drinks and a souvenir glass, $35 gets you that and a 750ml bottle of their 1st year Anniversary Beer Paloma, grapefruit saison. In its 5th year, Jam for Bread benefit raises funds for the ongoing operations of The Friendship Center’s two food pantry locations which feed more than 1,500 individuals every month. Expect upbeat music, great local food provided by area restaurants, a silent auction and raffle prizes from businesses in Chicago, and a cash bar. Help make this year’s event a success by purchasing tickets and attending or donating! All these things help feed those in need in the neighborhoods who need it. Word Play is the sound of real hip hop mixed with the hottest new stand-ups from across the country, topped with the consciousness of the best spoken word artists on the planet. Word Play harnesses the power of words from different aspects of our culture to incite laughter, cheers, and tears. The event is curated by influential architect Dave Jeff of PHLI hosted by acclaimed radio personality Leon Rogers of WGCI. Together with Codeblack Entertainment, we’re giving one bold, new African American filmmaker a chance to win $10,000 and a VIP trip to Miami Beach to screen their winning film for some of the biggest names in the business.One local filmmaker will go home with the grand prize of $2,500. Meet us for “Real to Reel” as we celebrate new African American Voices in Film. This is a free event so be sure to get there early!
