The end of September is the beginning of fall fashion around the world. Although Chicago may not be the fashion capital of the world, we have our own sense of style that can only be found and appreciated in the ‘windy city’. Get a first hand look at Model Atelier Autumn Coat collection at the Roof Runway event. Model Atelier is a Chicago based fashion house specializing in ready-to-wear goods for women 5’7″ and taller. The clothing line was founded by Robin Harris, Ford model-turned designer, who understands the challenges tall women( like myself) have when shopping for clothing. AAHH Fest by Common is the perfect example of how a person of major influence can give back to their community. In this annual music festival, Chicago’s very own Hip-Hop legend Common, brings to the city a headline of A-list musicians. Common brings together chart topping artists such as J. Cole and Bilal as well as some other artist who Chicago home such as Jeremih, Tink, and Vic Mensa. The festival not only brings influential artists to Chicago, but brings about a larger focus to the community at large. The festival with a purpose, supports the visions of both Common Ground Foundation and the Donda House( Kanye’s West mother’s foundation). It is a festival that brings good music and good vibes to the whole city of Chicago.
