The Graphic Stripe

Stripes were a big trend on the runway for Spring ’16. Every combination possible, from horizontal to asymmetrical was seen across various collections. The stripes themselves were even more impressive. Skinny to large widths were used to create various fashion illusions; producing looks that were both sophisticated and sensual.

I, personally, do not own many striped items. For years I was afraid of making a fashion faux pas and wearing the wrong stripe. I refused to walk down my street looking like a wide-load Tonka Truck, so I just stayed away.

I was attending an art walk in my neighborhood that evening, so of course, I wanted to bring a sophisticated yet sexy edge to a boho chic inspired look.

I decided to wear one of my very few but favorite pieces, a graphic stripped skirt and ended up with some pretty fabulous results.

Talk about S Curve!

Crop Top: H&M, Graphic Skirt: Wet Seal, Shoes: Unknown, Necklace: Marc by Marc Jacobs

I paired the graphic black and white skirt with a high collar blue crop. The thigh-high slits in the skirt, and the slight peek of midriff gave the ensemble just the right amount of edge.

I topped it off this fashionable piece with one of my more unique necklaces and a bright lip.

Let me know what you think about the Graphic Stripe!

How Would You Wear It?
