Bold Brooches

I have many goals for The Haute Seeker.  To not just share information and really interesting stuff to find and do in Chicago, but to turn the things I seek into a type of boutique!

To get started on this journey, I have decided to immerse myself in the estate sale/thrift store/ flea market scene to seek out unique pieces of jewelry. I have always been a vintage seeker, and have a pretty good eye for the stuff. This past Sunday, I ventured into Uptown to the Vintage Garage Chicago Holiday Market to see what I could find.

There were some decent vendors present, but I was not that impressed. However, I did find a great piece was completely in sync with one of fall ’15 most lady-like accessories trend: brooches.

The accessory was seen on tailored blazers at  Balenciaga to the worn-leather jackets at Saint Laurent.

Taking some tips from the runway, I would bring some life into an otherwise drab wool coat, by adding this opal brooch. Winter can be cold, but your style does not have to be.

Checkout two of my favorite shops, Yook and local the Wicker Park shop Vintage Underground for your own brooch fix.

Stay on the lookout for how I wear this piece on HTWITW section of my blog and more ways to shop my seeks very soon.
